Dual Overlay
Dual Overlay is a free-floating subfloor for use with the Foil Heater under carpet, vinyl and linoleum floor finishes.
What is the Dual Overlay System?
Dual Overlay is recommended for use with Warmup’s Foil Heater and Insulated Underlay for a complete electric underfloor heating solution perfect for softer floor finishes.
The two layers of Dual Overlay sit above the Foil Heater, acting as a strong and stable subfloor that protects the floor heater from heavy load points such as large bookcases or beds. The system is free-floating and quick and easy to install.
Key Benefits
Very thin at only 7mm in depth
Provides a stable subfloor
On which a variety of floor coverings can be laid
Easy to install
Protection for the heating system
Ensures that the entire heating system is protected underneath the finished floor covering.
Protection for the heating wire
Protects electric heating wire from damage if flooring is not laid immediately
Dual Overlay for ‘Dry’ rooms
The Dual Overlay System is not suitable for applications in ‘wet ‘rooms such as bathrooms. If you are using vinyl or carpet in a wet room, consider using compatible electric systems such as the DCM-PRO, StickyMat or Loose Wire systems; all installed with a 10mm layer of self-levelling compound to protect the system from moisture. Please contact Warmup for more information.
Installation
Composed of a separate Top Board and Base Board, the Dual Overlay’s two layers are positioned above one another with staggered and overlapping joints to guarantee a strong subfloor. The system is available for purchase in packs of 4 pairs of boards, offering coverage of 2.88 m2. As a floating subfloor, the Dual Overlay System is not fixed to the floor below and offers a quick, clean installation without the need for screed.
Some floor manufactures only allow the use of underfloor heating systems with their flooring when embedded within a screed/ leveling compound. It is important that you check with the vinyl or carpet manufacturer on the types of underfloor heating systems that are suitable for you chosen floor finish.
